Drayton Hall
Have you ever fancied a peek inside some of the areas most interesting old buildings?
Well now is your chance.
On the weekend of 18 and19 September our historic buildings stand shoulder to shoulder with the Tower of London, London Bridge and Buckingham Palace as part of the London "Open House" weekend.
Open House provides fascinating access into buildings and places that are not always open to the public, and through these visits - which are often accompained by talks and presentations - we get a rare glimpse of the past, as well as an often hidden present.
Open House activities are all free, and they really are worth seeing if you have not been to these buildings before - a real part of living history.
The buildings taking part in Open House are of course by no means the total of our remaning historic buildings. There are over 150 listed buildings in the area with some really interesting stuff to see if you keep your eyes open.
You can read more about our local history in the history section of this website. If you are really interested there is also a local history society that meets every month - details can be found elsewhere in the history pages on the ssite.
Until then, enjoy Open House.
