ORIGINAL RED COW

The Original Red Cow
High Street,
Yiewsley

Demolished 1962. The Red Cow occupied an important and extensive site in the High Street, there was a large beer garden with outbuildings. In the early 20th century the yard was a venue for street entertainers and a market. The current Red Cow stands in what was the beer garden and the rest of the site was redeveloped to include the current shops.

The old Six Bells probably from the 17th century was replaced by the current Six Bells, on the same site, in 1938.

SIX BELLS
THE CROWN

The first reference to The Crown was in 1689. The Inn was replaced by a bakery in 1924.

THE SWAN

The Swan, The Green, West Drayton Demolished 1964 and replaced with the current public house on the same site.

THE ANCHOR

The Anchor, Colham Bridge, Yiewsley. Rebuilt on adjacent site when the new canal bridge was constructed.

THE SIGNAL WD

The Signal, Station Road, West Drayton Demolished 1939 for road widening. The building occupied a site opposite Brandville Road.

THE JOLLY ANGLERS

The Jolly Anglers, Trout Road, Yiewsley.

Late 18th or early 19th century, with an altered facade. The pub was popular with the workforce fro the Anglo-Swiss Screw Company. Demolished.

THE RISING SUN STOCKLEY

The Rising Sun, Stockley.

A beerhouse on the canal bank which was very popular with those who worked the barges on the canal. Closed - 1937.
