Our part of the world is synonymous with creativity.
Pioneering creative industries at nearby Pinewood. The incredible heritage of The Beatles of EMI at Hayes. We have given the world a Rolling Stone. Three of the most important cultural influences of the twentieth century.
Today we have talent in our midst that is every bit as important. The "arts in spaces" project aims to identify this talent and give it a public platform. In making Yiewsley and West Drayton the best place in London to live and work we need everyone to be involved. We are really serious about it.
As our first step we need you to give your ideas. Blog on this page. To do this, click on "join the site". Then join the debate. We need you to look at our public space and say "what if?" and "wny cant this be possible?".
Lets think. In Newcastle who would have thought that a bunch of Geordies would be so passionate about a piece of sculpture? Why would Scousers be so attached to "Another place" - some statues being overlapped by the sea at Crosby beach? Its because it is their identity. Those Geordies own the history to that angel - the semi sacred half man half industry. Those scousers surrounded by the fclow of life and death looking across that great sea to Ireland where so many of them originated.
We have as much pride and history. Get in touch.
what places in the UB7 area can be better utilised?
